Action Man Multi Terrain Vehicle Description:
The Action Man Multi Terrain Vehicle was introduction in 1978. Of a design first conceived by Hasbro in the US, it featured an articulated mid section, (bellows hitch) and room for Action Men fore and aft. The vehicle came with a sticker sheet and instructions, however card decals in the rear inner section were pre-applied. The was a non-functioning gun and a yoke section. The Action Man 1978 Equipment Manual page reads "To transport stores, equipment or Team Members over the roughest country, the Multi Terrain Vehicle provides the answer. Articulated cab and six large wheels."

The Action Man Transport Command vehicle pool featured many vehicles and represents a heyday for Action Man transport. The card inserts on the seat surfaces are prone to damage. The semi-amphibious design was borrowed from the 1976 conceived Hasbro 'Big Trapper' - a yellow adventure vehicle with ray / stun gun, designed to capture Action Man's enemy the Intruder. The US design had an additional holding cage for this purpose on the rear. Palitoy militarised the design for the UK market and was a popular sizable toy.
