The following selectionof Star Cards were given away as an incentive to buy more Action Man goods, most packaging carried one or more star icon tokens, the number depending on the relative value of the purchase. Different 'gifts' were available at different times and the famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police 'Mounty' uniform was always a popular choice as was the lure of an undressed figure. Other paperwork is also shown here and will be built into a definative collection of images. It's interesting to see how inflation battered the schoolboy's pocket money during the 1970s.

It stands to rights that as basic figure boxes carried no stars on the outside (unlike most other boxes and trays), then star cards with two starter stars are likely to have originated in these boxes. It's a theory that makes perfect sense.

CREDITS: I must thank Scott (Flockhead) for doing most of the research work on this subject of Star Cards.
