Brown boots are needed from the basic Action Soldier figure.
"Kit out your Action Man for every phase of military service with these authentic true-scale equipment sets", read the Equipment Manual. The Jungle Fighter equipment card of 1968, is basically an accessorised Action Soldier with Beachhead Assault 'Jungle' tunic and trousers equipment cards from the previous two years added. The accessories could be bought separately and included:
ACTION MAN JUNGLE FIGHTER: Canteen and cover, mess tin, knife, fork, spoon, entrenching tool, bush (jungle) knife, machete and sheath, belt. Equipment Manual.
ACTION MAN BEACHHEAD ASSAULT JUNGLE TUNIC: Camo tunic. Equipment Manual.
ACTION MAN BEACHHEAD ASSAULT JUNGLE PANTS: Camo pants (trousers). Equipment Manual.
The Action Man Jungle Fighter equipment card most appropriately paired with the Beachhead Assault 'Jungle Camouflage' tunic and trousers. As it is a tropical uniform the Action Soldier cap seems an appropriate choice over the helmet. The Beachhead 'jungle camo' outfit was basically a copy of a GI Joe 'Marine' - a figure that did not make the crossing from the US. The small tab on the entrenching tool shaft is often missing, and the machete sheath can split at it's seams. First issue belts should have an adjustment slider. Many other accessories were available for pocket money prices, and it would have taken a few trips to the toy shop to get a completely kitted out Action Man Soldier. The Action Man Army Manual (that was included with the boxed Action Soldier) had details of how to set up figures, and the accessories available.
