The Action Man Helicopter Pilot dates from 1975 and appears for the first time in the 1975 Action Man Equipment Manual. He is the boxed pilot intended for the separately available Action Man Helicopter (and its incarnations) and arguably the Turbocopter and Combat Plane too. Quite common, the Action Man Helicopter Pilot outfit ran for a number of years and its final guise was with a green flight suit and yellow scarf, and new helmet with built in goggles slider from 1981 (with sharpshooter head), then in the final chevron-style boxes.
ACTION MAN HELICOPTER PILOT: Flight suit, scarf, boots, helmet with face mask (with goggles), Star Card, hand cup, Equipment Manual.
The Action Man Helicopter Pilot uniform has an all in one flight suit of blue with orange side panels. The material changes over a number of years and the stripe can be of similar material, or a velour type with single middle stich. The original helmets are the type circulated with the Scramble Pilot (albeit without the orange oxygen tube and end) type with roundal badge and Action Man lettering sticker and an orange scarf was included. The scarf changed to yellow in the 1980s around the time of the sharpshooter head, when the flightsuit also chaned to green with yellow stripes. Components of the Helicopter Pilot set were also available on period accessory cards. The 'current Action Man figure in 1975 was a flock haired with gripping hands figure. Only the Eagle eye figure would wear the green variant.
